We’ve finally got some exciting news for all you Nintendo fans out there! The much-anticipated Switch 2 preorders are set to open up in the United States after a couple of weeks of chatter about tariffs. Mark your calendars because Nintendo just announced that on April 24, a Thursday, you’ll be able to get your preorders in for the latest and greatest in gaming.
The pricing is sticking to what was previously announced, so expect to see the standalone Switch 2 system go for $449.99, or if you’re looking to snag it with a digital copy of Mario Kart World, that’ll set you back $499.99.
Now, there’s a bit of a heads up regarding accessory pricing. Some adjustments have been made due to the current circumstances. The Switch 2 Pro Controller now carries a price tag of $84.99, a modest $5 hike. Picking up a pair of those colorful Joy-Cons will run you $94.99, also up by $5. If you’re thinking about an extra dock set, that’s another $10 now, putting it at $119.99. And if you lose or want more Joy-Con straps, they’re going for $13.99, an increase of just a buck. Other accessories have seen similar adjustments with a $5 increment across the board. Check out the image in this article for a comprehensive list of hardware MSRPs, and while you’re at it, you’ll find the pricing details for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
For our friends up north, Canadian preorders are also slated to kick off on the same day. While official confirmation might be delayed due to a national holiday, Nintendo of Canada has already echoed the date along with the pricing details. So, be on the lookout!
