Intel’s XeSS technology is really making waves as it now brings enhanced support to over 150 games, with plenty more expected to embrace this next-level gaming tech soon. Excitingly, XeSS 2 is also starting to gain traction.
When Intel rolled out its first generation of Arc Alchemist GPUs, they introduced XeSS, a super-sampling method, as a key innovation. Fast forward two years from its initial release, XeSS has evolved significantly, landing a spot in 150 games. Intel is clearly thrilled with this milestone, hinting that even more games will jump on board in the near future.
For those eager to see XeSS in action, a comprehensive list exists showcasing the blend of modern and popular AAA games that are leveraging this tech. Yet, the race remains fierce, with AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS still serving as strong competitors in the super-sampling arena.
In a recent tweet from Intel Gaming, the excitement is evident:
_”We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with #XeSS support, with more on the way! Experience peak gaming for yourself with Intel XeSS AI upscaling today.”_
While Intel’s current standing compared to its rivals is still growing, there’s certainly an upward trend. Most titles have integrated XeSS 1, along with its newer iterations, but the more advanced XeSS 2 support is still limited to just two: F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. However, the horizon looks promising with games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3 soon set to bring XeSS 2 functionality to players.
Moreover, a select few games can tap into Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation technology, although this isn’t as widespread compared to FSR and DLSS Frame Gen options. Interestingly, XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are exclusively compatible with Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs, a lineup that currently features the hard-to-find Arc B580 and Arc B570 models.
It’s clear from Intel Gaming’s updates that they’re committed to expanding their technology’s reach and improving availability, so keep an eye out for more titles adopting these innovations in the future.
