According to recent information, there’s been a buzz about delays in the launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series GPUs. Initially, these graphics cards were expected to hit the market in March, but now it seems we’re looking at a bit of a wait. As it stands, the RTX 5060 Ti is reportedly set for an April release, while the RTX 5060 may follow a month later, in May.
Just before the much-anticipated release of the GeForce RTX 5070, hints of a setback for the RTX 5060 series surfaced. Originally scheduled for a March launch with availability in April, it now appears those plans have been adjusted. The exact reasons behind this delay remain murky, but Board Channels has confirmed that all NVIDIA board partners are aware of the situation. While NVIDIA hasn’t officially announced details about the RTX 5060 series, given the circumstances, it’s quite possible this information holds true. There have been whispers of bugs and supply chain issues contributing to the delay, but NVIDIA has yet to confirm these details.
An internal memo from NVIDIA to its AIC (Add-in Card) partners updated everyone on the release timelines for the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 series. It seems both are expected to see delays, with the RTX 5060 Ti models potentially launching in mid-April and the RTX 5060 following in mid-May. Specific launch dates are still up in the air, pending further updates from NVIDIA.
Interestingly, the RTX 5060 series launch might align with the arrival of AMD’s RX 9060 GPUs. The RX 9060 lineup, including the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models, features options with both 8 GB and 16 GB of memory, setting them up as direct rivals to the RTX 5060 Ti’s similar configurations. Although we’re still awaiting official word on when AMD plans to release the RX 9060 series, rumors suggest a second-quarter debut.
As for what to expect under the hood, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti promises to be the successor to the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a power requirement of 180 watts. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 aims to replace the RTX 4060, coming with 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150 watts. There’s speculation of a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 in the pipeline, though it remains unofficial. This potential variant could be a game-changer, especially as the RX 9060 series might only offer an 8 GB option.
