NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to release their new budget-friendly GPUs this May, aiming to capture the mainstream GPU market.
## NVIDIA & AMD Aim to Capture the Mid-Range GPU Market with RTX 5060 & RX 9060 XT
For those looking for affordable yet powerful GPUs, options have been limited recently. The latest generation, especially from NVIDIA, has suffered low inventory, driving prices higher than expected. AMD’s RX 9070 series has also faced high demand, making MSRP pricing hard to find. However, things are about to change, as Benchlife’s report suggests that both companies are set to introduce new products to the mainstream market soon.
Starting with NVIDIA, they’re expected to launch the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. It will feature an 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM setup, clocking 28 Gbps over a 128-bit memory bus. Notably, the RTX 5060 will demand more power, with an increase of 35W TDP compared to the RTX 4060. Here’s how it stacks up against its predecessor:
– 25% more CUDA Cores
– The same memory capacity
– Faster GDDR7 Memory (28 Gbps)
– Increased bandwidth (+64%)
– 30% higher power rating
On AMD’s side, anticipation builds for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, which is set to debut on May 21 at Computex, although retail availability might stretch into June. The RX 9060 XT will utilize the Navi 44 die with a 128-bit interface, available in 8GB and 16GB models, mirroring NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. It boasts 2,048 SPs, half of the RX 9070 XT, with game clocks at 2620 MHz and boost clocks at 3230 MHz—making it a formidable choice for 1080p/2K gaming.
We’ll be at Computex 2025 covering these exciting NVIDIA and AMD launches live, and if possible, sharing early insights. The mid-range GPU market is set for fierce competition, and May could be a game-changer.
