Minisforum is gearing up to impress with its latest lineup of products, showcasing AMD’s next-gen Ryzen powerhouses like the Ryzen 9 9955HX, codenamed “Fire Range,” featured in both a new MoTD and a compact Mini PC.
### Fresh Offerings with AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX “Fire Range” for MoTD & Mini PCs
At the “Japan IT Spring Week,” Minisforum pulled the curtain back on its latest innovations powered by AMD Ryzen chips. The new lineup includes MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, sleek Mini PCs, and efficient NAS systems.
#### Minisforum F1FGM MoTD Motherboard – A Powerhouse for Desktop Enthusiasts
Let’s start with the F1FGM, an exciting continuation of the MoTD series using cutting-edge CPUs. This mATX design board boasts substantial heatsinks over the VRMs, M.2 slots, PCH, and even an IO cover, making it a worthy successor to the BD770i and BD790i series, which carried the Dragon Range “Ryzen 7000HX” processors. Now, it upgrades you to the latest Fire Range “Ryzen 9000HX” processors.
You can equip this board with the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU, featuring a robust 16 cores and 32 threads built on Zen 5 architecture. With a boost clock reaching 5.4 GHz and a hefty 64 MB L3 cache, this chip is something special. It’s rated at 55W by default, but this desktop-grade mobile chip can rev up to 160W on this board, promising an elite gaming and user experience.
Moreover, there are options for more CPUs, including an exciting “X3D” variant. Cooling is tackled with a vapor chamber baseplate since these mobile CPUs lack an IHS. Power delivery is managed by a 13-phase duet rail design with 60A SPS power stages.
In terms of specs, it’s loaded with four DDR5 DIMM slots in a UDIMM design, allowing up to 256 GB capacities with speeds reaching 8000 MT/s. The X870M chipset is mobile-grade, yet it stands close to the capabilities of the B850 series. The board also sports two PCIe slots (5.0 x16 and 4.0 x16), three M.2 slots (with one Gen5x4 speed), alongside two SATA III ports. Modern IO includes USB4, 5GbE LAN, and WIFI7, complemented by two BIOS DEBUG LEDs.
#### Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC – Compact Yet Mighty with Fire Range CPUs
Taking a leap into Mini PCs, the MS-A2 steps up from the MS-A1 lineup, which paraded Ryzen 8000G CPUs. Now, with Fire Range CPUs, these Mini PCs are more formidable, offering advanced IO solutions like three M.2 slots (with one adaptable to U.2), 10 GbE LAN courtesy of an SFP+ port, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot capable of handling a low-profile card.
Although different from the MoTD, this Mini PC features a motherboard with two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 96 GB at 5200 MT/s. The rich array of IO includes 2 USB 3.2 Gen Type-C, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2, a USB 2.0, dual 10 GbE LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, plus DP and HDMI outputs.
#### Minisforum N5 PRO Brings Stratagem to NAS Systems
Last but not least, the Strix-powered N5 PRO NAS impresses with up to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, which packs in 12 cores, 24 threads, and Radeon 890M iGPU. This NAS unit offers five 3.5-inch bays, configurable in RAID, and features a tool-less design for easy drive management. It supports up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs and reserves space for a single PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for a video card, ensuring flexible deployment options.
Each bay can accommodate drives up to 22 TB, and it offers three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (2x Gen4x1, 1x Gen4x2). Interface options include a 10 GbE and a 5 GbE Ethernet port, with IO provided via three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
Minisforum plans to roll out these cutting-edge solutions in the near future, so keep an eye out for more updates.
