As you might already know, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii has a little treasure hunt going on—specifically for golden balls. These elusive items are something Goro Majima needs to collect by tracking down all seven as part of a sub-story.
Before you get the wrong idea, let’s clarify: these are literal golden spheres you’re meant to gather from different locations as Goromaru makes his rounds, akin to a quest in Like A Dragon: Gaiden. Initially, a bug made it challenging, if not impossible, for some players to complete this task. Thankfully, that’s been sorted out, so there’s no need to reach for the rotten tomatoes or threaten to unleash Kiryu on me!
This bug fix is included in the latest update for the game, version 1.12, which RGG released today, March 7th. The update notes simply state, “Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.” It’s a bit mysterious, isn’t it? Which ball was causing all the trouble? Was it seized by one of the game’s pirate rivals who haven’t left their old Tojo Clan ways behind? We’ll probably never know. To borrow a line from Thin Lizzy, the balls are back in town, and that’s the only thing that counts.
Moving on, here are the other fixes in this patch across all platforms:
– Fixed an issue preventing manual saves.
– Fixed a glitch where loading saved data on a ship under certain conditions could cause players to fall into the sea, unable to return. (Admittedly, that one sounds amusing.)
– Resolved an issue where arcade game scores weren’t saving properly.
– Addressed numerous typographical and localization errors.
– Various other bug fixes aimed at enhancing stability and quality.
For PC players, there are a couple of additional tweaks: the game has been updated to support Intel XeSS 2.0.1, and a rare crash linked to resource loading has been fixed. If you’re experiencing random driver crashes on specific NVIDIA GPUs, RGG suggests capping your FPS at 60 in the game settings.
If you haven’t checked out Pirate Yakuza yet, be sure to read my review where I ponder whether my sense of humor has taken a hit simply because I didn’t laugh at a scene with a middle-aged Japanese man in the shower.
