Nintendo recently revealed that the Nintendo Switch has reached an impressive milestone, with global sales hitting over 150.86 million units.
Between April and December of 2024, Nintendo sold 9.54 million Switch consoles. While this marks a 30.6% decrease compared to the previous year, the company pointed out that games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder played a significant role in boosting hardware sales in the past.
In terms of game sales, the Nintendo Switch has achieved nearly 1.36 billion units sold overall. However, during the same nine-month period, sales of 123.98 million games reflect a 24.4% drop from the year before.
If you’re curious about which games are topping the charts, here’s the rundown: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe leads the pack with 67.35 million copies sold, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 47.44 million. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has achieved 35.88 million sales, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild reached 32.62 million. Super Mario Odyssey isn’t far behind with 29.04 million sold, and Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield collectively have hit 26.60 million.
Continuing down the list, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have moved 26.38 million copies. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold 21.55 million units, Super Mario Party came in at 21.10 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has reached 18.06 million sales.
