Developer Funcom has announced a one-month delay for the release of Dune: Awakening, pushing the game’s launch from May 15th to June 10th. This decision comes in response to feedback gathered during its ongoing closed beta testing phase.
In a statement on their website, Funcom emphasized the importance of player feedback in shaping the game. Dune: Awakening offers players the thrilling challenge of attempting to seize control of the planet Arrakis, all set in a universe where the well-known character Paul Atreides hasn’t disrupted things for the empire.
Funcom expressed their gratitude for the insights shared by beta testers, highlighting the vibrant discussions happening on Discord, where developers and testers collaborate directly. This interaction has been crucial in identifying key areas for improvement.
The company stated, "We’ve realized that with a little more time, we can address a lot of the feedback we’ve received, ensuring a higher quality experience at launch. Although we understand everyone’s eagerness to start playing, these additional weeks will allow us to enhance the gameplay significantly."
Additionally, Funcom revealed plans for a large-scale beta weekend next month, opening the doors for even more players to experience the game and contribute their thoughts. They promised to share further details about this event soon, keeping the community engaged and involved in the development process.
