Tired of hearing about “Dune Awakening” and not actually getting to play it? Well, good news! You’ll soon have the chance, thanks to a free open beta weekend kicking off on May 9 and wrapping up on May 12.
To secure your spot, make sure you wishlist the game before May 9 for a shot, or snag one of the “thousands” of beta codes the team will distribute during the weekend. So, it’s open, but there’s a bit of luck involved. Think of it as the door being slightly ajar.
This beta weekend falls just a few days before the original May 15 release date, which was pushed back so the team at Funcom could add some finishing touches. They’re making sure everything is polished for the big launch.
During the beta, you’ll get to dive into the first two regions, which should offer around 20 hours of gameplay if you explore thoroughly. You’ll check out some Research Facilities, test the early abilities of different classes, and engage in a bit of PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a solid preview of what’s to come. If you’re curious about our take, we’ve just released a new preview of “Dune Awakening” that dives into this very part of the game.
