The physical collector’s edition of “Terrifier: The ARTcade Game” has been announced, promising fans a treasure trove of content. This special release, however, won’t be available on all platforms.
Originally revealed in October 2024, “Terrifier: The ARTcade Game” is being developed by the Spanish studio Relevo and published by SelectaVision under their SelectaPlay label. The game is a 2D pixel art beat-’em-up that fits into the broader Terrifier universe. While it’s aiming for a 2025 release, we’re still waiting on a firm launch date.
Adding to the excitement, SelectaPlay has just announced the game’s Collector’s Edition. Packed with exciting goodies, this edition features a physical copy of the nostalgic beat-’em-up, along with a “Puke” bag, and two enamel pins featuring fan-favorites Art the Clown and Vicky. There’s also a reversible poster, a set of character stickers, and a physical art book included. To top it off, a premium collector’s case will house the game, complemented by a physical soundtrack and an instruction manual. Fans will even receive a unique pair of light gray, bloody gloves; unlike Art the Clown’s own gloves, these come with fingertips intact.
Now available for pre-order on the game’s official site, this Collector’s Edition will likely only be accessible before the game’s official release in 2025. However, the lack of a specific release date means the pre-order period remains vague.
Platform availability is another facet to consider. Initially announced for PS5 and PC, SelectaPlay has since confirmed its development for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S. Yet, this physical Collector’s Edition will only grace the PS5 and Switch, with the PC and Xbox versions presumably staying digital-only.
Expect “Terrifier: The ARTcade Game” to weave a tale inspired by the three previous slasher films but will also forge its own meta-narrative. Players will watch Art the Clown wreak havoc on Terrifier movie sets, causing chaos in his usual gruesome fashion. The Collector’s Edition sweetens the deal with exclusive digital bonuses, such as a Hardcore mode with an alternate ending, an extra gallery, and a new character skin.
As anticipation builds for this unique addition to the Terrifier franchise, fans can look forward to a game that’s equal parts homage and innovation, wrapped in a collector’s package loaded with tasteful memorabilia.
