ASRock’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards have made a surprise online appearance, showcasing the soon-to-launch Steel Legend and Taichi custom models.
ASRock is gearing up for a promising lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 graphics cards, focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. Ahead of official releases from other AIB partners, ASRock’s GPUs have been leaked online, featuring three distinctive models: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Leading the charge is the Taichi series, which appears to be ASRock’s flagship offering. It boasts an impressive triple-fan setup with a hefty heatsink, necessitating a three-slot design.
What’s particularly intriguing about the Taichi variant is its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector, a feature not standard across all models. AMD has left this decision to AIB partners, tailoring it to the power demands of each specific model. This connector can deliver up to 600W, indicating that the Taichi model is robustly equipped for high-performance specifications and significant overclocking potential.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, intended as ASRock’s mid-tier offering, it sports sleek white and silver color schemes. This model features a 2.5-slot triple-fan design, but it opts for a 2x 8-pin power connector instead of the 12V-2×6. This dual 8-pin configuration is typical for many of AMD’s AIB models, with exceptions like the higher-end Taichi series.
As for when we can expect these models to hit the shelves, next week seems to be a good guess. That’s when AMD is reportedly planning to start the pre-orders for its RX 9070 series GPUs.
