NVIDIA recently rolled out a fresh hotfix for its GeForce display driver, aiming to tackle the "pesky" display problems and a newly discovered GPU temperature glitch.
NVIDIA’s Latest Driver Hotfix Tackles Persistent Display Crash Issues
In recent times, it’s rare to see so many hotfixes coming out for a single driver. It appears NVIDIA hit some bumps while offering software support for its RTX 50 series GPUs. Honestly, I’ve lost track of how many, but it seems Team Green has released yet another hotfix, the v576.15 driver, which addresses multiple problems. Notably, it fixes the display crashes that appeared with the initial v576.02 driver. Additionally, it resolves a temperature sensor bug that reportedly caused issues with GPU voltages and clock speeds.
Here’s what the hotfix addresses:
- [RTX 50 series] Certain games may show shadow flicker/corruption post-update to GRD 576.02 [5231537].
- Lumion 2024 experiencing crashes on GeForce RTX 50 series when entering render mode [5232345].
- GPU monitoring tools failing to report GPU temperature after the PC wakes up from sleep [5231307].
- [RTX 50 series] Some games crashing while compiling shaders after updating to GRD 576.02 [5230492].
- [GeForce RTX 50 series notebooks] Resuming from Modern Standby could lead to a black screen [5204385].
- [RTX 50 series] SteamVR showing random V-SYNC micro-stutters when using multiple screens [5152246].
- [RTX 50 series] Reduced idle GPU clock speeds after updating to GRD 576.02 [5232414].
Although we’ve been aware of the display issues with NVIDIA’s RTX 50 drivers for some time, this new temperature sensor glitch popped up, causing incorrect GPU temperature readings particularly after a system sleep. Apparently, the GPU temperature sensor misbehaves when there’s a brief power pause, creating headaches for numerous users. However, this latest hotfix driver addresses those concerns, so users shouldn’t encounter this snag for now.
You can grab the GeForce Hotfix display driver version 576.15 right here and see if it smoothes out the display crashes or those pesky temperature sensor issues.
