Thunderful has given us a sneak peek into Lost In Random: The Eternal Die through its first developer diary, specifically for the Nintendo Switch release.
In this diary, game director Martin Storm delves into the roguelike elements of the game, highlighting the intricacies of its relic system, its unique characters, and more.
Crafted by Stormteller Games, previously known as Thunderful Gothenburg, this new installment in the eerie and wonderfully twisted Lost in Random series takes the form of a rogue-lite action game.
The storyline unfolds when Mare the Knight captures Aleksandra, previously known as The Queen, and her ally Fortune within the ominous Black Die. You’ll need to battle through a maze that’s randomly generated, facing off against daunting pawns and participating in massive board game battles.
Overcoming these challenges rewards you with treasures that enhance your odds against Aleksandra’s captor. However, it’s your cunning and your ever-reliable die companion that are crucial for navigating this living labyrinth rife with villainy, where the rules of Random reign supreme.
The publisher has shared some key highlights of the game, which include:
Mastery Meets Chance: Dive into intense, moment-to-moment combat that combines real-time action with strategic choices, peppered with a bit of luck.
Forge Your Playstyle: Command four distinct weapons, utilize your die-companion, and blend over 100 relics with potent card-based abilities to create powerful combos.
Ever-Changing World: Explore four uniquely generated worlds, each brimming with its own secrets and challenges, and face more than 30 diverse enemy types and formidable bosses.
A Dark Fantasy Tale: Get absorbed in a full-fledged narrative set in a Tim Burton-esque universe, illuminated by hauntingly beautiful scenery and an alluring soundtrack.
Expect to see Lost In Random: The Eternal Die launching digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch worldwide in the summer of 2025.
