Dell has expanded its line of 14 Plus 2-in-1 laptops by integrating AMD’s cutting-edge Ryzen AI 300 processors. This addition offers buyers a cost-effective way to tap into the power of AI without stretching their wallets.
The latest Dell lineup features two distinct Ryzen AI processors: the Ryzen AI 5 340 and the Ryzen AI 7 350. These processors boast an impressive up to 8 cores and 16 threads, alongside delivering up to 50 NPU TOPs for AI tasks. With this, Dell continues its annual practice of refreshing its laptop series, leveraging the newest offerings from both AMD and Intel. After unveiling laptops powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2, Dell now shines the spotlight on its AMD-based models that promise competitive AI capabilities at a reasonable price.
AMD’s high-end Strix Halo and Strix Point lines have already found a home in many high-end laptops, but Dell’s decision to use the more budget-friendly Krackan Point series marks a shift in focus. The 14 Plus 2-in-1 laptops, now equipped with Ryzen AI 300 chips, aim to keep pace with AI-driven demands and offer a balance of performance for users.
Not only are these laptops efficient, but they are also versatile, featuring a 360-degree hinge that allows a smooth transition between laptop and tablet modes. The 14-inch screen, with its 1920x1200p resolution and 300 nits of maximum brightness, ensures work and play on the move is seamless and efficient.
Despite its lightweight design at just 1.59 kg, the Dell 14 Plus doesn’t compromise on power. Customers can choose between models with either a 6-core/12-thread Ryzen AI 5 340 processor or an 8-core/16-thread Ryzen AI 7 350 processor. Built on Zen 5 architecture, these configurations deliver rapid performance across various workloads. Additionally, equipped with AMD Radeon 840M or 860M graphics, users can confidently tackle modern graphical tasks, including casual gaming.
The laptops will be available with storage options ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB, but with a consistent memory specification—16 GB of LPDDR5X running at 7500 MT/s. While the memory is fixed and not expandable, it aligns perfectly with tasks of light to medium intensity, making it an ideal choice for office professionals, students, or casual gamers.
Aside from its robust performance, the Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1’s standout feature is its outstanding battery life, capable of lasting up to 19 hours, putting it in competition with models based on Lunar Lake. Furthermore, the laptop offers a comprehensive connectivity suite, with Type A and Type C ports, HDMI 1.4 for external displays, and advanced wireless technologies such as WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, catering to the needs of today’s connected users.
