GTA 5 Reportedly Returning to Xbox Game Pass

It’s looking like 2025 might finally be the year we get our hands on GTA 6. But let’s not forget about its predecessor, GTA 5, which still has plenty of life left in it. According to the latest scoop, it appears to be making its way back to Xbox Game Pass soon.

This tidbit comes from @videotechuk_ on X, who’s known for reliable Rockstar updates. They shared that Rockstar is dropping hints about GTA 5’s return to Game Pass.

Here’s something to get excited about: GTA 5 is no stranger to Xbox Game Pass. It’s made appearances before, but the upcoming stint is a bit different from those in the past.

Last time GTA 5 was on Game Pass, you could only play it on the console with the Xbox One and Series X|S versions available. However, this time around, they’ve mentioned PC Game Pass, which is pretty significant.

And that’s not all.

Fans of playing GTA 5 on xCloud will be thrilled to hear that it’s coming there too. This was also confirmed by Rockstar with a bit of added enthusiasm.

If this report checks out, it means players will have the flexibility to play GTA 5 pretty much anywhere, using console, PC, or cloud options thanks to Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft recently unveiled its upcoming Game Pass lineup, featuring titles like Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition and South of Midnight, but GTA 5 wasn’t on that list. However, given the series’ massive popularity, it’s the kind of news that warrants its own special spotlight.

There’s another layer here that bears mentioning: GTA 5 isn’t currently available on PC through the Microsoft Store. For it to work on PC Game Pass, it’ll have to make its debut there first. Looking further ahead, this move could be setting the stage for exciting developments as we approach GTA 6’s release.
