Apparently, a movie adaptation of the recently released game, Split Fiction, is in the works. This exciting development comes from a report by Variety, which reveals that Story Kitchen is spearheading the project. They are tasked with assembling a talented team of actors, writers, and a director to bring the game to the big screen. Story Kitchen isn’t new to this type of project; they also worked on a film adaptation of Hazelight’s earlier hit, It Takes Two, which is under Amazon’s wing, along with versions of Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
It seems like offers are pouring in from several major Hollywood studios, eager to be part of this venture. Split Fiction itself burst onto the gaming scene last March, impressively selling a million copies within just 48 hours of its release and reaching the two million mark by the end of its first week. “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” Hazelight expressed on Bluesky, celebrating this major achievement. They also took a moment to thank both their new and long-standing fans, expressing love for the enthusiasm surrounding their latest game.
Meanwhile, the adaptation of It Takes Two is shaping up to be quite the production, with none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on board. The screenplay is in capable hands as well, with Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the minds behind Sonic the Hedgehog’s script, taking up writing duties.
