In an exciting development from the world of Japanese gaming, Koei Tecmo has announced that Hisashi Koinuma will step into the role of chief executive officer, effective April 1, 2025. Koinuma, who previously served as the company’s chief operating officer, as well as president and general manager of the entertainment division, is set to bring new energy and insight to the position.
In addition to this leadership change, Koei Tecmo is undergoing a strategic reorganization. The company will be divided into two distinct entities: Koei Tecmo Games and Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance. This move is part of a broader vision aimed at sharpening the focus and enhancing the effectiveness of each division.
The company shared their ambitious goals with shareholders, stating, “Our group aims to become the world’s leading digital entertainment company, driven by our guiding principles of creativity and contribution.” They have been laying the groundwork for this leadership transition over time, engaging in thoughtful deliberations within the Nomination and Compensation Committee.
As they look forward to the fiscal year 2025, Koei Tecmo is confident that this new management structure will propel the company toward greater growth and profitability.
